About
I am a PhD candidate with the Norwegian Research Council-funded SEATIMES project (2022-2026), at the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Bergen, Norway.
I research human-whale relations through whale tourism, science, and whaling, particularly their acoustic dimensions. I’ve also studied the hunting of Greenland and basking sharks in the northeast Atlantic.
I teach interdisciplinary social and cultural approaches to the oceans to undergraduates and master’s students; more info here www4.uib.no/en/studies/courses/sant285-13
I am also co-founder and co-host of the podcast Anthropology on Air (2023—).
