“By train and bus to the north: the journey is the goal!”

Summer version || Winter version

In 2024, I co-wrote and designed a slow travel brochure in partnership with Whale2Sea to encourage people to take a combination of bus, ferry, train, and electric car for at least part of their journey to the Arctic - instead of flying the whole way. This was funded by the EU First Mile Project, which aims to help tourism to become more environmentally friendly.

Below is a map of my flight-free travels to and from one of the sites where I carried out fieldwork, Andenes in Northern Norway. These journeys (carried out in both summer and winter) formed the basis of the information included in the brochure.
